Your elected officers (Howard Weinberger, President and Tom Newton, VP) for the Pole Creek Men's Club want to welcome you to another great season for PC Men's Club! The 2024 season will kick off soon as soon as the snow all goes down the river! We have assembled a great squad to lead the way this season with Charlie Carrol as the Treasurer, with Shawn Moynahan, Ed Steinauer, Chris Finklea and Jeff Lederman at-large members of the Board.

The fee for being a member of the Men's Club in 2024 is $175 (same as 2023) which includes your USGA GHIN Handicap set up at Pole Creek ($140 for players with their own GHIN at another course) and your entry fee covers 2 free lunches, hole-in-one 'insurance' and the year-end Awards Banquet! Being a member also gives you the opportunity to play in the club championship. See requirements below.

Hopefully the course will open soon, and we can all get out to play! We have scheduled the season opening round at the end of May as long as the course is open at that time. The official kick-off day will be June 9th which will start the Match play and also be the first free lunch day! Don't miss this date. Our 27-hole Member/Member event will be held on June 30th. The Member Guest Tournament will be August 2-4.  The Men's Club Championship Tournament will be held on August 17 -18! Get your golf fees paid ASAP.

As usual we will have our scheduled game on Sundays with a starting date to be June 9th, weather permitting. All players have the choice of which tees you would like to play from with the choices being, Blue, White, Gold or the Combo of White/Gold tees. No matter which tees you choose you will receive strokes based on your handicap for that set of tees.  The Sunday game entry fee will be $10 with an option to play in a skins game for an additional $10 per player. Pro shop prizes will be awarded for the game minus any closest to the pin contest cash award. The Sunday Game each week will be a Gross and Net Winner one with the number of places paid determined by the number of players. The $10 Skin game will be paid out in cash and handicaps will be applied to determine the winners.

To play in the Club Championship you must have played a minimum of 3 days played in Men's Club Weekly Game. We are setting the guidelines for Sunday play so that you must register by 5PM the Friday prior to Sunday play.

A few items to note:

1. Our rule each and every week will be to play the ball DOWN...which means NO TOUCHING THE BALL, PERIOD.  In the case of particularly bad playing conditions, all golfers will be notified of any changes to this rule for a particular day, prior to teeing off. Any golfer who violates this rule will be assessed the applicable penalty.

2. Pace of play continues to be an issue on the golf course every year. The course guideline of 2:10 per 9 holes should be followed. That said, the goal of every foursome should be to keep up with the group in front on them. As members of the Men's Club, we should all take ownership in keeping up the pace of play on the golf course - WE SHOULD NOT BE THE GOLFERS HOLDING UP THE GOLF COURSE.  The board reserves the right to assess penalties for golfers who are violating this rule.

3. We have included hole-in-one 'insurance' with membership this year. Any hole-in-one made during our official men's club events (Sunday's and Tournaments) will have your bar tab paid for (one drink per person). Should the hole-in-one pool become depleted (hopefully), we may need to all make another donation into the pool.

We are excited to have more players join and hope you will bring in more members too! The board is continuing to brainstorm new ideas of how to improve the Club and will be announcing some of them in the near future. As an all-volunteer board, we are happy to accept help and welcome your input.

IF YOU HAVE COMPLAINTS OR NEED TO ADDRESS ISSUES THAT MAY ARISE YOU CAN CONTACT ANY OF THE BOARD MEMBERS OR OFFICERS. JT, CRAIG OR JESSE

We are looking forward to seeing you on the course!

Howard, Tom, Charlie, Shawn, Ed, Chris and Jeff
