| (May 24th) Hi guys - time for another installment of the newsletter. The weather has been kind of hit or miss lately, but all the events and league nights have been played. Men's Club News: - As most of you know, the deadline for the first round of individual and classic matches is May 27th. If you have not completed your match yet, make sure to schedule it this weekend. Good Luck to all the participants. Please call or e-mail Brian Dingmann if you have any questions or concerns. - Men's Club Invitational - Wednesday, June 27th. The Invitational is fast approaching and the sign up deadline will be here before you know it!! Start lining up your guests and get the word out. We expect a large turnout this year, so get signed up soon, you don't want to get shut out of this event!! Past Event Results: - Peppers - May 20th - tough weather conditions with cold and wind, but several players shot very well. Jerry Vetsch and Rick Torkkola captured first place with a score of 698. This was a very low score for the conditions. Great Playing!! Dave Landreville and Don Hickerson took 2nd place with a 716, Gary Obele and Tom Barber took 3rd with a score of 758 and Dan Brannon and Gib Abfalter took 4th place. - Spring Kickoff - April 28th. We had a very nice turn out for this event. Barry Quornemoen won the gross flight with a 74. Very nice round Barry! Matt Guerton and Dave Landreville tied for 1st place in the 1st flight net with 71's. Bill Timmer won the 2nd Flight Gross a 75 and Jim Rieder took the net with 72. 3rd Flight winners were Gib Abfalter (Gross) and Noel Martin (Net). 4th Flight winners were Jim Anderson (Gross) and Carlo Ramsey (Net). Congratulations to all the winners! Upcoming Events: - Wednesday, June 13th - Chicago Points. This is an event on league day. Chicago Points is individual stroke play with full handicap. Points are awarded for net scores on hole, with 6 points being awarded for an eagle, 4 points for a birdie and 2 points for a par. No points are awarded for any hole played at net over par. - Sunday, June 17th - US OPEN. This is the second leg of our Grand Slam Challenge and it open to the public. It is 2 man best ball where your partner is a PGA professional playing in the US Open. Make your own tee times. - Saturday, June 23rd - Easy as 1-2-3. Teams will be randomly drawn to include an A, B, C, and D player. On each hole, the team will count one net score (Par 3), two net scores (Par 4) and three net scores (Par 5).
