Minutes from Men's Club Meeting
March 4, 2009
Executive Board Present:  Brian Dingmann, Mel Doherty, Mark Staller, Curt Renslow, Mike Doering.
Board Members Present:  Jim Anderson, Dan Brannan, Tony Graning, Barry Ashmore
Members Present:  Rick Torkkola, Troy Malo

President Brian Dingmann called the meeting to order at 6:04 PM.  A quorum was declared.  The agenda was reviewed with one item added – Tournament Pairing Program (TPP) training.

Secretary’s Report:
The minutes from the February meeting were approved as written.

Treasurer’s Report: No changes to the budget.  However, the board asked Curt to modify the budget based on a projected membership of 100 members rather than 150 as we are expecting a lower turnout this year.  The board will take a look at the new projections at the next meeting.

Old Business:

     • Handbook final review.  No changes mentioned for the handbook though Mike Doering is working on selling advertisement that would be published in the handbook.  If Mike can get that done quick enough, it will be included in the handbook otherwise we will go with what we have currently.
     • Assign Tournament of Directors.  The board reviewed the weekend event schedule and assigned members to act as Tournament Directors for each event rather than have one person do all the events.
     • Review Event Checklist.  A checklist was provided listing the details that the Tournament Directors can follow when managing their assigned events.

New Business:

     • Golf Course / Restaurant News:  Troy Malo filled the board in on the latest news.  Troy has hired a new assistant Pro.  His name is Jonathon Hanner.  The City of Becker has reached a deal with Peake’s Restaurant and it is now official that Peake’s is closed.  The City has 4 new potential businesses looking to take over the restaurant and a decision will be made shortly.  They fully anticipate that the new restaurant owners will be open and operating by the start of the golf season (if not sooner).
     • Open House preparation.  Brian Dingmann will bring the membership sign up forms and Dan Brannan will bring the new handbooks.  The Open House date has not changed, it will still be on Saturday, April 4th.  Troy Malo will take care of contacting the local papers and ask them to put a notice in the paper.
     • League/Year long event chair update.  No new information, each chairmen is ready to go.
     • TPP Training.  Mike Doering mentioned sending some people to the MGA seminar on using the Tournament Pairing Program.  Mike needed to check yet and see if there is a cost associated with that.

Guest Day Update.
     • Warren Johnson provided the latest information on Guest Day.  The date will be Wednesday, June 17th with a 1:00 PM shotgun start.  The format will be 2 man best ball over 18 holes.  The cost will be $65 for Non Season pass holders and Guests.  Pebble Creek season pass holders and season cart pass holders will pay $20 (cost of meal and prize fund).  Season pass holders who do not also have a season cart pass will pay $36 (cart, dinner, prize fund).

Next month’s meeting date has been changed to Wednesday, April 8th at 6:00 PM.  Location yet to be determined.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 PM.
