Pebble Creek Men's Club Newsletter
March 2009
(March 19th) Hello fellow Men's Club members - well, how about this?  We have finally had some warm weather and now  the snow is almost gone.  I think this is the first time in the last 3 or 4 years that the snow is gone before April.  There is still a lot of thawing and drying out that will need to take place before the golf course opens, but at least we are ahead of schedule compared to the last few years.

On to the News:

New ownership for the golf course restaurant. Tim Cox, fellow Men's Club member and owner/operator of the Lake Cafe and Trails Sports Bar and Grill in Big Lake, has now officially taken over the restaurant at Pebble Creek golf course.  I believe the new restaurant name is "T's at Pebble Creek", but I could be mistaken on that.  In any case, Tim will be a great and welcome addition to Pebble Creek.  He has some great new ideas for the restaurant and will help the course generate business.  And there are two things you can count on from a Tim Cox establishment, great food and great customer service!    I have not heard when the official opening date will be, but I am pretty sure he will be open for the Open House on April 4th, if not sooner.  Stop by and congratulate Tim and his staff and wish them well.

Upcoming Events:

Men's Club Open House - Saturday, April 4th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Start spreading the word to all your golfing and non-golfing friends.  Come out to Pebble Creek on April 4th and sign up for Men's Club and the various leagues and events.  You can also pay for your Pebble Creek season passes and shop in the Pro Shop and get a jump on the rest of the crowd.  Stop in to check out the new restaurant and have a beer with your golfing buddies and start forming your team for league.  Or just stop in to chat with us, we will all be there.

Spring Banquet - Wednesday, April 15th at 7:00 PM. For those who had not already done so, this is your chance the get signed up for Men's Club, leagues and events.  We will have a table setup prior to the dinner for those who still need to pay their dues and fees.  The meal and drinks are pay as you go.  There will be a brief information meeting after the meal.

New Member Open - Saturday, April 25th.  This event is open to all new Men's Club members in 2008 and 2009.  There will be a brief orientation meeting and tour of the facilities and then you will be paired up in 3 to 4 man groups with a board member or fellow men's club member for a round of golf.  The orientation meeting will start at 10:30 AM, meet in the snack bar.  Golf will follow starting at Noon.

Guest Day - Wednesday, June 17th. Put it on your calendars now!  The format has changed to a 2 man best ball over 18 holes.  Cost will include green fees, cart, range balls, dinner, and prize fund.  The cost for non-season pass holders and guests is going to be $65.00.  The big news is that this year, if you are a Pebble Creek golf and cart season pass holder, you will not have to pay the green fees and cart cost: you will just pay for the dinner and prize fund.  So your cost for Guest Day will only be $20!!  If you are just a golf season pass holder and NO cart, your cost will be $36.  More information is on the web site at www.pcmensclub.com.

Next Men's Club Meeting is Wednesday, April 8th at 6:30 PM at T's at Pebble Creek. Stop in and see what kind of trouble your Board of Directors are up to or just stop in to chat with us.

With the poor economy and people losing their jobs and homes all over, we are anticipating a lower than normal turnout for men's club.  We hope that will not be the case and all our men's club friends and families are coping with the current state of affairs in reasonable comfort, but we are still planning for the worst, just in case.  Despite the tough times out there, a little relaxation and enjoyment on the golf course (and later in the bar with your friends) may just be the morale booster you need to keep you going.  Maybe you will have to cut back on the number of rounds a bit this year, but try not to cut them out entirely.  Remember, your own little "support group" is right there at Pebble Creek.  A pleasant round of golf on a great course with good friends can make a tough day look a little brighter.  So keep that in mind.

See you at the Open House
