Pebble Creek Men's Club Newsletter
June 2010
June 14th - Hello fellow Men's Club members - time once again for that exciting monthly newsletter I know you all just can't wait to get.  I bet your finger even pauses at least 2 or 3 seconds over the delete button before you send this email off to the trash.  Oh well, best I not know these things  :)

A couple of reminders right up front before you get too bored.
     1)
NO LEAGUE PLAY this Wednesday, June 16th or next Wednesday, June 23rd.  This week the State High School league will be having the state tournament for 2A (I think) taking up the course so we will not be having league.  The following week on the 23rd is our Guest Day.
     2) Which segways me right into reminder #2.
The Pebble Creek Men's Club Guest Day presented by StarCor Credit Union will be on Wednesday, June 23rd.  This is a great deal that you really should not miss out on.  Cost for members who have a golf course and cart membership is only $20!!!  Cost if you have a course membership and no cart pass is only $36 and for guest's and men's club members who do not have a Pebble Creek course or cart membership will be $65.  That is still incredibly cheap as you are going to get 18 holes of golf with cart, free range balls, prize fund, and a steak dinner!  Gather your friends and don't miss this chance to play one of the finest conditioned courses in the State.  Each men's club member can bring up to 4 guests to partner with.  There are registrations forms in the Pro Shop or you can download one off our website at www.pcmensclub.com.  Sign up deadline is this Sunday, June 20th!!

Men's Club News:

I covered the two main points I wanted to mention up above so I will just ramble a while.  Men's Club membership is down a bit this year, we are not really sure if it is because of the economy or if people are just losing interest (No, it can't be that!).  However, we have picked up 16 new members this year that we are thrilled to have join us as well as some past members who have found there way home again.  Welcome to both groups!  We hope you get involved in all the activities we have available to you.
The year long match play tournaments seem to be going along smoothly, at least I have not heard of any problems (other than we lost our first round match, darn!).  Remember to keep on schedule and get your matches in before the deadlines!  I know it is pretty hectic in the beginning of the year, especially if you are playing in both the Classic and Individual tournaments.  Trying to get two matches scheduled in a two week period is tough but things calm down as you get further into the brackets and teams drop out, so hang in there!
We know that June is a busy month for many of you with graduations, weddings, vacations, etc.  That is why we only scheduled one weekend event (which was this past weekend).  Starting back up in July we will have two weekend events each month so check our calendar and make sure you leave those dates open in your busy summer schedule.

Past Event Results:

High Ball Low Ball - May 22nd.  In rainy conditions with lightening threatening, the team of Dave Landreville, Curt Renslow, John Dinsmore, and Jim Anderson blew away the field by 6 strokes to take the top honors in this event.  Three teams tied for second place with a score of 151, but the team of Chad Mathews, Mike Doering, Tony Graning, and Josh May won based on the scorecard matchup.  Congrats to all the winners!

Easy as 1-2-3 - June 12th. This past weekend we were able to dodge the rain and finish before the skies opened up.  We had some great individual playing as well as team ham and egging to put up some super scores.  Leading his team to a first place finish with a super individual gross score of 72 was Mike McCann, who along with Mel Doherty, John Dinsmore, and Jim Anderson put up a excellent team score of 22 under par.  Coming in second, 5 strokes back with a team score of 17 under was the team of Greg Mattson, Ken Batts, Jerry Vetsch, and Lyle Herbst, who won the scorecard matchup to take the second place honors over the team of Eric Gohdes (gross score 74), Lonnie Fluck, Don Holly, and Todd Hanrahan.  Good job 'fellas!
