| Executive Board Present: Brian Dingmann, Mel Doherty, Mark Staller, Curt Renslow, Mike Doering
Board Members Present: Dan Brannan, Tony Graning, Eric Graning, Jim Anderson, Barry Ashmore Members Present: Gary Obele President Brian Dingmann called the meeting to order at 6:01 PM. A quorum was declared. The agenda was reviewed and approved with one addition. Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the June meeting were reviewed and approved as written. Treasurer’s Report: We still need to make some adjustments to line items in the budget (increase amounts) as we have a little more income than budgeted for. Old Business: • League Updates. The 1st half of league is complete and the 9-hole and 18-hole leagues will be paying out for the 1st half winners this week. • Year Long Events Update. Everything is on track for year long match play tournaments. • Weekend Events Update. Flyers are up for the next tournament this coming weekend and signup sheets are up for the next two tournaments. New Business: • Criers and Whiners Event Review. There were 2 no-shows that need to be addressed yet. Basically, the event went fine though the format was not one most enjoyed. We will most likely replace this event with a different one next year. • Board Member Term Limits. Brian Dingmann brought up for discussion the current term limits for board members. According to our by-laws, there are only 4 elected positions and they are 1 year terms. Brian felt it takes most board members a year just to understand all the details of their position and two year terms might be more beneficial. More discussion will be needed though all the board members agreed. Brian also mentioned that we need to start recruiting for next year’s board positions that will come open to find some members interested in serving. • Guest Day Review. Gary Obele presented his final results on the Men’s Club Guest Day and we discussed what went well and what needed to be worked on. We had 127 golfers (82 teams), which is far more than we have ever had and paid out nearly $8,000 in prize money or shop credits! • MPGA 16 Man Team Playoff Conflict. Our 16 man team has virtually locked up a spot in the MPGA 16 man playoffs this year. Unfortunately, the playoff date falls on the same weekend as our Club Championship. Mel Doherty has contact the MPGA to see if we can play our match on an alternate date and we are waiting to hear back on that. If the MPGA will not change the date, then we will need to decide what we want to do. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM. |
