| Article VI. Handicaps Section 1. All regular members of the Club must maintain a current MGA handicap to be eligible to compete in Club golf tournaments or Club golf events. Section 2. All handicaps will be calculated and recorded under the direction of the handicap chairman by MGA computerized handicap system. Only the current handicap card with the latest effective date will be honored and each member is responsible for obtaining and keeping in his possession his handicap card. Section 3. All members shall be responsible for posting his own scores, after adjusting his scorecard in accordance with the MGA handicap adjusting system. All scores, regardless of the date or place where the round of golf was played, must be posted by each member immediately following play, or as soon thereafter the day of play as is possible. Any member who fails to post his score shall be subject to reprimand by notice, or such sanctions, as the handicap committee shall recommend, subject to the approval thereof by the Board of Directors. Any member who repeatedly fails to post his scores as directed herein shall be subject to having a score posted for him by the Handicap Committee each time he fails to post his score, or, by a majority of the Board of Directors, he may be subject to suspension from tournament play or expulsion from the Club. Article VII. Committees Section 1. All committee chairmen shall be selected and appointed by the elected officers, but approved by the Board of Directors, from the members of the Club. Other required committee members shall be selected by the committee chairman. Section 2. The elected officers, as soon as practical after their election, shall select and appoint chairmen to the following standing committees: a. Handicap; b. Tournament/Events; d. House; and e. Leagues. The Tournament/Events chairman shall work with the Club Pro to coordinate and produce said events. In addition to such standing committees the elected officers may select and appoint members to such other committees, as they deem advisable and appropriate. Section 3. All committee chairmen appointed shall carry out the duties delegated to them by the elected officers and shall serve under the supervision of and at the discretion of the President and the Board of Directors. Article VIII. Club Tournament and Club Events – Rules of Play Section 1. The current USGA Rules of Golf shall govern play of all members in any tournament or golf event sponsored by the Club. Section 2. Local rules applicable to Pebble Creek Golf Club, as suggested and determined by the Club Professional with the recommendation and approval of the Board of Directors, may be posted and used to modify USGA rules where they are appropriate. Section 3. Any member who has entered a tournament and fails to show up for play in that event and complete that tournament shall be subject to sanctions, including suspension of playing privileges in future tournaments as are deemed appropriate by the Tournament/Events chairman and as are approved by the Board of Directors. Article IX. Amendments Section 1. These By-Laws may be adopted, amended, altered or modified at any regular meeting or special meeting of the members of the Club called for such a purpose by a majority vote of the members of the Club, or in the event a majority of the members of the Club is not present at said meeting, by a majority affirmative vote of the members present at said meeting. Notice of the meeting at which any By-Laws are to be adopted, amended, altered or modified, shall be given in writing to all members at least ten (10) days prior to the date of said meeting. Section 2. Proposed amendments to the By-Laws by any member shall be submitted in writing to the President within a time sufficient to allow the consideration and discussion thereof by the Board of Directors at two (2) regular or special meetings of the Board and a scheduling of the vote thereon by the members at a regular meeting. Section 3. The Board of Directors shall decide all questions of interpretation of these By-Laws. The above By-Laws were adopted and approved by a vote of the members of the Pebble Creek Men’s Club, Inc as provided herein at Spring Meeting of said Club on the 10th day of April, 2002. |
