President Brian Dingmann called the meeting to order at 6:04 PM. A quorum was declared. The agenda was approved without changes.
Secretary’s Report: The minutes from the July meeting were approved as written.
Treasurer’s Report: We reviewed a number of budget line items and increased the amounts allocated where we made reductions prior to the season because we were anticipating a lower membership than we ended up with. Terry Duffy has volunteered to buy the original painting for Red #8. Brian will take some pictures and get them to Doug Lien so he can do the painting.
Old Business:
o League updates. 9-Hole and 18-Hole league chairs have posted the 1st half winners and put the money in the Pro Shop for them to collect.
o Weekend Events update. Tournament Directors for the next two events will post their tournament flyers in the next couple of days.
o MPGA Match Play update. Our 16 man team lost their last match but still ended up in 3rd place overall and thus qualified for the playoffs. It looks like they will be playing Baker National at a neutral site (probably Bunker Hills) and Mel Doherty will coordinate with Baker to find an alternate date to play the match so that it does not conflict with our Club Championship.
New Business:
o We reviewed the 2-Man 6-6-6 combination event. There were 34 players (17 teams) and overall the event went very well. There was some confusion on how to do the payouts and a mistake was made on the sheet announcing the winners but that has been corrected.
o The board reviewed how to determine event payouts and Mark Staller presented a couple of examples sheets for tournament of directors to use in helping them in the future.
o Club Championship Prep:
• The Calcutta party will be on Friday, September 11th at Kendall Kragenbring’s house (right next to Blue #4 tee box) starting at 7 pm.
• Signup sheets for club championship will be posted this week. The signup deadline will be Sunday, September 6th.
• The Pro Shop will assist in making the large scoreboards.
• Mark and Brian will meet with Troy and determine the tee times, courses to be played, and pairings.
• Volunteers – we will need 4 volunteers. One will act as starter (provided by the Pro Shop) and 3 will man the scoring table.
