Pebble Creek Men's Club Newsletter
August 2008
Hi fellas' - sorry that I have been so delinquent getting this newsletter out, but guess what?  It is still August so I got it in just in time!

I wish I could give you more event result information but I just have not received it despite my constant nagging of those concerned to get it to me so I could let everyone know who has won what during this past month.  I will give you what I have for now and let you know more later.

By the way, congratulations to Denny Steele who had a hole in one this past Wednesday during league play on Red #3.  Way to go Denny!!  Hey, where is my beer?  Also, a belated congrats to Tim Cox who also had a hole in one earlier this year!  I got that beer, thanks Tim!

Past Event Results:

Individual Low Gross/Low Net - July 19th.  Congratulations to Steve Whittaker who took the honors for low gross in the 1st flight and to Steve Mount who won the low net honors.  Coming in second gross was Dave Landreville and second net was a tie between Gary Obele and Curt Renslow.  In the 2nd flight, low gross went to Tim Cox and low net to Mark Sycks.  Not job, guys!

And, unfortunately those are the only results I have.  I will get the 2-Man Best Ball and Club Championship results posted shortly (I hope).

Upcoming Events:

Fall League:  Don't forget that fall league begins next Wednesday, September 3rd.  The cost is only $20 per person and it is a 2-man best ball 9-hole league.  Make sure you sign up and pay soon.  The league will be every Wednesday from September 3rd until October 22nd.

Tournament of Champions - Saturday, September 27th. This event is only for those players who finished 1st or 2nd in a Men's Club event during this past summer.  The list is on the website for you to check and I will get it updated with the results from those events missing as soon as I can.

Fall Scramble - Saturday, October 4th.  Teams will be randomly drawn to include an A, B, C, and D player.

Texas Big Cup - Saturday, October 11th. Though this is not an "official" Men's Club event (it is open to the public), I am including it here as it is a lot of fun to play in.  There is a link on our website for the flyer or you can pick on up in the Pro Shop with all the details.  It will be a 2 person scramble event.

I guess that is it for now.  Boy, this sure was a short newsletter (I hear all of you sighing with relief out there).  Remember, fall golf is one of the best times of year to play.  The weather has usually cooled down and the course is in great shape, so get out there and play while you still can before winter hits.  Ooops...never say the "W" word around here.

See you at the course,
Mark Staller
